How to Tell Fake a Hello Kitty Necklace from the Real Thing

Over the last five years there has been a deluge of fake Hello Kitty merchandise flooding the UK market. Typically the dodgy gear can be bought from disreputable online web shops, garage sales, and back street markets. If you are a fan of Hello Kitty then of course you will want to know whether or not you are buying bonafide authentic goods or being ripped off. One the most commonly faked products we have seen is the Hello Kitty necklace.
There are many Hello Kitty necklaces available to buy online and they can range in price from under ten dollars, to the very expensive ones designed by Tarina Tarantino which are known for being hand crafted and of very high quality. There are some unscrupulous online stores that are selling fake versions though, but it can be easy to tell – although you will only know once the Hello Kitty necklace is actually in your possession if you are buying online.
As well as fake Hello Kitty necklaces there has also been a proliferation of sub-standard Hello Kitty watch products also appearing recently. These are easier to spot though, and usually the Hello Kitty watch strap is the real give away due to the obvious discoloration. However, a Hello Kitty necklace that isn’t real is more difficult to spot but here are some guidelines that should help you to not get scammed. Firstly ask yourself whether the online shop you are buying Hello Kitty merchandise from looks authentic? Does it have user reviews on there, can you see any positive feedback on the website if you do a Google search on them? Secondly, when the Hello Kitty necklace arrives what type of packaging is it in? If it comes in non-descript and blank boxing with no Hello Kitty logos or stamps on it, then it is one hundred per cent certain that you have been sold fake Hello Kitty necklaces.
Of course, some of the online scammers are more adept at selling fake goods so if you want to be entirely sure that you are always buying legitimate goods then it is an idea to buy direct from websites such as Kitty Shopaholic or Amazon who are known to only sell authentic products. Hello Kitty is such a fun brand, and is mainly aimed at young children so it is disappointing to know that some people are trying to take advantage of this. Shop wise and shop safe and make sure you always check before you buy.
